Jambhala Thangka — Dzambhala, the Wealth Buddha

Jambhala (Tibetan: Dzambhala) is the Wealth Buddha and protector of prosperity in Tibetan Buddhism — invoked to remove poverty, attract abundance, and support the conditions for Dharma practice. He appears in five color forms, each associated with a different Buddha family and aspect of wealth: Yellow Jambhala is the most widely practiced, Black Jambhala governs swift removal of financial obstacles, and White Jambhala is associated with the compassion of Chenrezig. A Jambhala thangka is placed on a dedicated wealth altar or business shrine to support prosperity practice and create auspicious conditions.

Which Form to Choose

  • Yellow Jambhala → the most common form for general prosperity practice and wealth altar use. Seated, holding mongoose and citron fruit.
  • Black Jambhala → for swift removal of financial obstacles and debts. Wrathful form, standing on a corpse.
  • White Jambhala → for compassionate wealth and merit accumulation, associated with Avalokiteshvara.
  • For a business or home wealth altar → choose a large-format giclee print, hand framed in auspicious gold-border silk brocade.
