Collection: Kartika Rituals

Features of Kartika Rituals

Gandhanra Kartika Ritual implements are handcrafted crescent-shaped knives (knife of the dakinis) used in Vajrayana Buddhist ceremonies to symbolize the severing of the two obscurations — defilements and ignorance — that obstruct the path to enlightenment. Our collection includes full-size Kartika knives from 3.9" to 11cm, round and flat designs, and miniature Kartika pendants from 1.1" to 1.34". Each piece is cast or forged from Copper or Brass with traditional wrathful deity handle imagery.

How to Use Kartika Rituals

Hold the Kartika in the right hand during Vajrayana ritual and visualization practice, using it to symbolically cut through ego-clinging and the two obscurations. In deity yoga practice, visualize yourself as the wrathful dakini deity holding the Kartika aloft as a symbol of liberating wisdom. Place a Kartika on your altar alongside a Kapala skull cup to represent the complete wrathful offering implements of the dakini tradition.

Why Choose Handmade Kartika Rituals

Gandhanra Kartika implements are handcrafted by Tibetan metalworking artisans with precise knowledge of traditional wrathful deity iconography, ensuring each piece meets authentic ritual specifications. Our range spans from full-size ceremonial Kartika knives to wearable pendant versions, making authentic Kartika implements accessible for practitioners at every level. For those engaged in Vajrayana practice involving wrathful deities such as Vajrayogini, Troma Nagmo, or Yamantaka, our Kartika collection provides genuine ritual tools of exceptional quality.
