This large Gau shrine was handcrafted by Tibetan artisans from Hepo Township, Baiyu County. It took them a month to create it through manual hammering, about 6 years ago.
Each exquisite pattern on it is meticulously hand-carved,and it is embellished with the technique of gold inlay, with pure silver inlaid on the red copper material and gold-plated on the pure silver material. This technique is highly intricate and requires exceptional skill and patience.
Its theme is Astamangala, and it features 10 mythical creatures traversing a silver-patterned meadow. In the center, there is a shrine atop a prayer wheel, all meticulously hand-carved.
The interior space of the box is quite spacious, large enough to accommodate a 12 * 8 cm Buddha statue, with additional room to store sacred objects.
