Old 108 Bodhi Seed Beads Mala,Hand Hold 16mm Prayer Beads

This bodhi seed mala was collected from Derge county,about 30 years old,hold and blessed by a lama.
It is composed of 108 bodhi seed beads, bevel cut shape,brown color,approximately 16mm,inlaid brass and turquoise dos, perimeter is about 54cm.

Malas are used all over by the Buddhists around the world especially they are used in Tibet, Nepal and India.
You will always see the monks as well as lay people using them while walking around the stupas or temples or monasteries.
A Mala is usually used for prostrations, counting mantras, Meditation and so on.
It is worn on left wrist while not in use.
