This rare hand-held wrist mala was acquired from Kathok Monastery in the Kham region of Tibet and is approximately 40 years old.

Originally part of a longer necklace mala (not a full 108-bead strand), it has been worn smooth over decades of devout chanting, developing a rich, jade-like patina and a deep, lustrous and natural weathering texture.
